Why You Should Start Your Tuition Business Today
Don’t be afraid to start your own tuition business. It’s because I didn’t know either, but I made a success out of it. If I can do it, so can you. Yes, it requires the right actions and steps. I never had that guidance when I started, but hopefully, this platform can help you not make the mistakes that I did.
“You don’t need a great idea to get your business started!”
This quote is very true. You don’t need a brilliant idea to get any business started. Just because you don’t have an extraordinary idea, doesn’t mean you can’t start a business.
There are so many extraordinary entrepreneurial examples that we get inspired by: Steve Jobs and Elon Musk are a few to name here, and how they have changed the world. But let’s be honest here, these are just a couple of examples of extraordinary people. You might be thinking I can’t be like them. But what about the many people out there who have established successful businesses using existing ideas? And this is simply due to their execution, them trusting a process (that works!) and having faith in what they are trying to do. If everyone worries about the outcome, then no one will start anything in life; and this is due to the risk-averse nature of human beings.
As human beings, we like to procrastinate, and this is due to our survival instinct. But times have changed and the world has moved on with technological advancements. So like our human ancestors, we can’t be hiding in caves anymore to protect ourselves and plan too much; otherwise, the ship will sail away. There is a reason why people say: “Fortune favours the brave.” And this is exactly what I’m trying to help people with.
Everyone can start their own tuition business. You don’t have to be a genius to do it, and I’m certainly no genius sir!
So when should you start?
“Start before you’re ready.”
I love this quote from Steven Pressfield. It’s to the point and conveys the message.
You can never be ready for anything in life. Life presents challenges that you just have to take head-on, accept and look to solve. The tuition business is the same. Even today, I get presented with challenges all the time, and this is a person who has been running tuition businesses for nearly a decade now.
When I first started, I was clueless about running a business. I had never done anything like it before. My parents always wanted me to lead a ‘normal’ professional life. Get a job, get married, have kids, get a house, and retire comfortably. I’ll be honest, I never wanted to get into the tuition business, but circumstances changed in my life that dictated I had to do something different to progress. Otherwise, there was a risk that I would never be able to move ahead in life. That story on how I got involved and what made me pursue the tuition business is for another time that I’ll share in a future post.
Back to starting a tuition business. The key thing that I’m trying to convey is that you can never be ready for anything in life. Yes you can plan things, but we all know things never go to plan. So what do people do when things go of course? We have to be flexible and take certain steps to get ourselves out of a pickle. Tell me, when life presents ourselves with challenges, do we stop living? No, we don’t; and the tuition business is no different. Tuition business will present its challenges like life does, but there are solutions to the problems and I aim to help minimise those problems (via this platform) to help as best as possible.
“If you don’t risk anything you risk everything.”
By no means it is impossible to start or run your tuition business. I’ve done it, especially when I didn’t have any background in running a business. If I can, so can you. All we need is a bit of a risk in life (a calculated one!), and it’s not too much of a risk when it pays off, gets you on a ladder of financial success and gives the satisfaction of helping people.
